Governor Dakić opens Regional Statistical Seminar of ECB and CBCG

Three-day Regional Statistical Seminar, jointly organised by the European Central Bank and the Central Bank of Montenegro started today in Budva. The seminar aims to increase the level of compliance of regulations with the EU standards in this area. Mr Milojica Dakić, the Governor of CBCG, opened the seminar.

“The importance of statistics for economic policy is vital. Business decisions of any government, government authorities or businesses are based on statistical data. Quality of decision-making and governance in the economic system depend on the quality of these data. Therefore, the standardisation of methodologies in the field of statistics is very important for central banks in their process of standardisation and integration into the ESCB”, said the Governor Dakić during the opening ceremony.

Topics discussed will include monetary and financial statistics, balance of payments and securities statistics, payment system statistics, financial accounts, etc.


 The seminar is attended by 45 representatives of the central bank from the region and Europe – National Bank of Serbia, National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia, Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bank of Albania, Central Bank of Kosovo, Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, National Bank of Poland, Czech National Bank, Bulgarian National Bank, National Bank of Romania, European Central Bank.
