Statement of the Central Bank of Montenegro regarding the article “Banks Prep for Life After Euro“ published in the Wall Street Journal

With regard to the text “Banks Prep For Life After Euro“ published in the Wall Street Journal, the Central Bank of Montenegro hereby states that it does not consider the euro collapse as an option. This was communicated to the respective reputable magazine in writing. The Central Bank of Montenegro also denies that there are any “weighing of options for life after the euro” because such a scenario is not considered realistic. Consequently, it is untrue that any preparations are under way to introduce a domestic currency.
