Annual Central Bank Award
On the occasion of the Day of the Central Bank of Montenegro, 11 April, the annual award for the best diploma thesis, master`s thesis and doctoral thesis in banking, monetary policy and theory is being granted. The aim of the award is to both stimulate development of scientific thought and promote young professionals in Montenegro.
The award is granted for the theses Montenegrin citizen defended in the previous calendar year at the universities in Montenegro. The decision on this is made by the Commission appointed by the Central Bank Governor and comprised of the prominent professors in economics.
The annual Central Bank award consists of three plaques and the cash amount, established for each year by the Governor.
We believe young economists will choose more topics covering central banking, monetary policy and theory, supervision and other pertaining topics.
Pursuant to Article 4 and 5 of the Rulebook on Granting the Annual Central Bank Award (No.0102-3480/1 of 27 July 2011 and No.0102-3480/2 of 22 January 2013), the Central Bank of Montenegro announces
COMPETITION
for Granting the 2018 Annual Central Bank of Montenegro Award
I With the aim of stimulating scientific thought and promoting young professionals in Montenegro and on the occasion of the Day of the Central Bank of Montenegro, 11 April, the Central Bank of Montenegro grants the award in the category for the best diploma thesis, master`s thesis and doctoral thesis in banking, monetary policy and theory.
II The cash amount for the 2018 Annual Central Bank of Montenegro Award, per categories, shall be as follows:

III Citizens of Montenegro who defended their diploma thesis, master`s thesis or doctoral thesis in the previous calendar year at one of the universities in Montenegro may compete.
Employees and the Council members of the Central Bank of Montenegro may not compete.
IV The theses shall be submitted to the Central Bank of Montenegro directly or by regular mail to the following address: Central Bank of Montenegro, Svetog Petra Cetinjskog 6, Podgorica, specifying “For 2018 Annual Award” no later than 20 February 2018. Theses submitted after the deadline will not be taken into consideration.
Theses are submitted in paper and electronic formats (CD), and beside those, the participants shall submit the application containing their address and telephone number, certified copy of diploma/certificate on the acquired academic degree, curriculum vitae and the copy of biometric identity card or citizenship certificate.
V Commission, appointed by the Resolution made by the Central Bank of Montenegro Governor, will make a selection of the best theses.
VI Commission may decide not to grant the Annual award for certain category, if the submitted theses do not meet the required criteria.
VII All participants will be notified on the competition results 60 days following the competition closing date.

2017 Annual Central Bank of Montenegro Award Winners
The award for the best diploma thesis was granted both to Mr Filip Ćirović for his paper Bank Resolution in Accordance with the EU Directives and to Ms Milica Vukčević for her paper Rating of Banks in the Montenegrin Market Using the Analytical Hierarchical Process Model.
The award for the best master’s thesis was granted to Mr Jovan Radunović for his paper The Analysis of Hayek's Concept of Denationalization of Money.
The award for the best doctoral thesis was granted to Ms Ana Mugoša for the work of the Capital Structure in Deciding upon Mergers and Acquisitions.
2016 Annual Central Bank of Montenegro Award Winners
The 2016 annual Central Bank of Montenegro award in the category of the best diploma thesis was granted to Mr Vukan Lakić for his paper Analysis of Business Operations of an Investment Bank.
The annual award in the category of the best master’s thesis was granted to Mr Nebojša Žugić for his paper Possible benefits for the Montenegrin banking by implementing CRM (customer relationship management) strategy in internet banking.
In the category of the best doctoral thesis, the annual award was equally shared by Ms Julija Cerović for her paper Econometric modelling of risks based on the extreme value theory with a multidimensional generalization of implementation to Montenegro and Ms Tamara Backović Vulić for her paper Econometric research of capital market volatility in Montenegro.
2015 Annual Central Bank of Montenegro Award Winners
The best diploma thesis award was granted to Vjera Vučković, for her paper Mortgage Banking defended at the Faculty of Economics, University of Montenegro.
The best master`s thesis award was granted to Miloš Duletić za his paper Monetary Policy in a Dollarized Economy defended at the Faculty of International Economics, Finance and Business, University of Donja Gorica.
The best doctoral thesis award was granted to Milena Lipovina Božović for her paper Econometric Models used for Forecasting Macroeconomic Indicators - Case of Montenegro defended at the Faculty of Economics, University of Montenegro.
